Transport & Logistics Coordinator

This role is responsible for coordinating the daily movement of pre-owned vehicles throughout the John Hughes Group, ensuring vehicles are delivered safely, efficiently and on time to support sales and operational requirements.
The successful applicant will possess strong organisational, communication and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
With multiple sales, service and storage locations across the Perth metropolitan area, transport coordination plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our business.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate and plan daily vehicle movements to meet operational requirements and delivery deadlines.
* Schedule and oversee transport activities for pre-owned vehicles across multiple dealership, workshop and storage locations.
* Liaise with Sales, Reconditioning, Service, Storage and Yard Operations teams to ensure vehicle movements are prioritised effectively.
* Allocate and monitor transport workloads to maximise fleet utilisation and efficiency.
* Register incoming transport requests and monitor progress through to completion.
* Assist with driver rostering and daily resource planning.
* Ensure transport operations comply with all relevant WA transport legislation, including fatigue management and Chain of Responsibility requirements.
* Coordinate scheduled truck servicing, maintenance and compliance inspections.
* Maintain accurate records relating to vehicle movements, transport activity and departmental reporting.
* Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and transport performance.
Leadership & Operational Structure
This position is responsible for the day-to-day coordination of Pre-Owned Vehicle transport operations and works closely with the Transport Manager to ensure transport requirements are delivered efficiently across the business.
The successful applicant will work closely with the Lead Yard Hand, who manages vehicle organisation and movement within the yard environment, while receiving ongoing support and direction from the Transport Manager.
Required Skills & Experience
* Previous experience supervising or coordinating staff will be highly regarded.
* Sound knowledge of transport legislation, fatigue management and Chain of Responsibility obligations.
* Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands.
* Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
* Good computer literacy and experience using transport or fleet management systems.
* Current unrestricted Driver's Licence.
* Sound knowledge of the Perth metropolitan area.
