Become part of a critical team for The Western Renewables Link Project (WRL), the largest transmission build in over three decades and is critical infrastructure required to unlock the renewable energy potential of Victoria as the state transitions to cleaner, more sustainable energy.
As a Communications Advisor you will play a key role in shaping how the Western Renewables Link (WRL) is understood and supported by the public, stakeholders, and the media. You will support communication across a wide range of channels, including stakeholder correspondence, project collateral, media responses, and digital content. Every message you help craft will contribute to building trust, clarity, and confidence in the project. This role is ideal for a skilled communicator who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about making complex information accessible and engaging.
This is a dynamic and high-impact role at the heart of one of Victoria’s most significant energy infrastructure projects
The role is based in Melbourne, and is part of the Communications, Stakeholder & Industry Engagement team.
This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:
* Draft and coordinate correspondence, ensuring tone, accuracy, and compliance with project standards.
* Develop and contribute to the creation of project collateral including fact sheets, presentations, FAQs, and technical summaries.
* Support media engagement activities, including drafting media responses, preparing briefing materials, and monitoring media coverage.
* Ensure all communications reflect consistent key messages and align with the broader project communication strategy.
* Collaborate with internal teams (land, field access, engagement, technical) to ensure communications are informed, accurate, and timely.
* Assist in the development and maintenance of communication templates and tools to support efficient and consistent messaging.
* Contribute to the identification and mitigation of reputational risks through proactive communication planning.
* Support continuous improvement in communication processes and team collaboration
You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:
* Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism, media, or a related discipline.
* 5+ years in communications, media, or stakeholder engagement roles
* Strong writing, editing, and content development skills
* Experience in infrastructure, energy, or regulated environments preferred
* Ability to translate technical content into accessible, audience-appropriate messaging
* Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
* Experience supporting media engagement and monitoring
