Known for supporting major projects across mining, rail, and heavy industry, this organisation delivers precision component rebuilds and testing services to Tier 1 clients acrossAustralia.With a strong safety culture and a commitment to Lean practices, the team operates in a modern, well-equipped facility focused on reliability, quality, and continuous improvement.Roster$57.36hr (Dayshift): Monday to Friday, 6:00 am - 2:30 pm$68.83hr (Afternoon Shift): Monday to Thursday, 1:30 pm - 10:30 pm & Friday, 1:30 pm - 7:30 pmKey DutiesOperate CNC lathes on a locomotive wheelset overhaul lineMachine wheels, axles, and support housings to accurate specificationsAssist with mechanical fitting, bearing installation, and assemblyInterpret technical drawings and determine manufacturing methodsMeasure components and ensure quality standards are metContribute to Lean initiatives and workshop efficiencyMaintain a strong focus on safety and complianceWhat You BringExperience in CNC operation and programmingAbility to set up and operate CNC lathe machinesKinwa CNC lathe experience preferred but not essentialStrong attention to detail and measuring instrument proficiencyRelevant trade qualification or equivalent work experienceClear communication skills, both written and verbalRail industry experience desirable but not essential - training providedPay & PerksCompetitive Hourly RatesDays: from $57.36hrAfternoons: up to $68.83hrPenalty rates for public holidays (up to 150%)Stable workshop-based role with long-term potentialIf this role sounds like it's for you, please feel free to send your CV in today.
