In 2025, our School theme "Together in Harmony" continues to shape our community and practice.To learn more about us, please visit ResponsibilitiesTeach violin, viola, cello and/or double bass in individual or small group lessons.Conduct and support before-school and lunchtime string ensembles across year levels.Prepare students for performances, including concerts, assemblies, and special events.Support students' technical and musical development in solo and ensemble contexts.Collaborate with the Head of Music to select suitable repertoire.Liaise with families regarding student progress and performance opportunities.Promote the Strings Program by sourcing internal and external performance opportunities.Attend camps, workshops and events as part of the Strings Program, including out-of-hours commitments.As a classroom music teacher, teach classroom music to students from Kindergarten to Year 6.Deliver engaging, student-centred lessons grounded in Kodály and Orff pedagogy.Develop weekly programs that are differentiated and reflective of evaluative feedback.Integrate ICT tools to enhance musical understanding and interactivity.Monitor and document student progress, providing individualised extension or remediation where necessary.Maintain high standards in preparing professional documentation, including grammar, punctuation and presentation.Assist with choirs and ensembles, including rehearsals and performances.Collaborate with the Head of Music to select appropriate repertoire.Communicate effectively with parents about student learning and progress.Participate in camps, rehearsals, concerts, and other events as required.Attend parent-teacher interviews and contribute to student reporting.Engage in student supervision and comply with all school-wide training, particularly in child safeguarding.Contribute to the annual school musical, if required.Selection CriteriaDemonstrated proficiency on a string instrument, with the ability to teach a range of string instruments in individual and small group settings.Ability to conduct and develop ensembles focusing on student engagement, technique and musical expression.Knowledge and implementation of suitable and varied ensemble repertoire.Willingness to participate in the broader life of the school community, including after-hours events.Demonstrated experience teaching classroom music to primary-aged students with a knowledge and practical application of Kodály and Orff music education methodologies.Strong planning, programming, behaviour management and assessment skills, implementing inclusive, differentiated programs tailored to diverse learning needs.How to ApplyTo apply, please submit:A cover letter including a summary of experience and clearly addressing the four selection criteria above.A current resume including contact details for at least two professional referees.Monday, 13 October 2025Email applications to: Mr David Campbell (Head of Music) @ (emailprotected)The school reserves the right to commence interviews prior to the closing date.Commitment to Child Safety and Equal OpportunityChrist Church Grammar School is committed to providing a child-safe environment.
