The Trauma and Acute Surgery Unit (TASU) is seeking a Nurse Unit Manager.
The TASU is a fast-paced, acute ward environment that prides itself on high standards of acute general surgical and trauma nursing care.
The Role:
* Provide clinical and operational leadership to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
* Coordinate staffing, rostering, and workforce management to support service delivery.
* Oversee clinical governance, risk management, and compliance with Tasmanian Health Service policies and standards.
* Support, mentor, and develop nursing staff through performance management and education.
* Manage budgets, resources, and equipment efficiently within allocated funding.
* Lead quality improvement initiatives and contribute to accreditation and patient safety outcomes.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective patient flow and continuity of care.
* Promote a positive workplace culture aligned with Tasmanian Health values and professional standards.
Appointment Details:
Fixed term full‐time day worker, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for up to 12 months. Hours will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Salary and Benefits:
* Salary $134,109 to $140,384 per annum (in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023).
* Post Graduate Allowance up to 10% based on qualification.

Essential Criteria:
* Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
* Experience in acute and trauma nursing with leadership responsibilities.

* Demonstrated commitment to the Department of Health values.
Desirable Criteria:
* Advanced postgraduate qualifications.
* Experience with the Tasmanian Health Service policies and standards.
