Mixed Production Farm Worker required for mixed cropping and livestock enterprise farm at Coonamble, Central West NSW.
Sarumo Pty Ltd is a family owned and run business that operates a mixed Winter and Summer crop enterprise across three non-continuous farm aggregations producing Oats, Faba beans, Canola, Lupins, Barley, Wheat, Chickpeas, Triticale, Mung beans, and Sorghum. It also encompasses a mixed livestock enterprise comprising of up 400head (cows plus progeny) Angus Beef cattle and up to 800head managed meat goat enterprise (does plus progeny).
Total aggregation property size is 6657ha.
This is a full time on going position being offered with a salary range of $68,000-$78,000 per year, plus or minus depending on commiserate with skills and experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with implementation of both Winter and Summer cropping programs.
*Assist with the husbandry, general care, movement and welfare of livestock.
*Operate farm machinery and equipment safely and effectively involved in cropping, cultivation and related farm operations.
*Load and unload of seed grain, fertilisers and livestock feed onto and from truck transport.
*Carry out a variety of farming tasks such as (but not limited to) maintaining fencing, water supplies, farm tractors, vehichles and related equipment and general amenities to a high standard.
*Support the implementation of sustainable farming practices and environmental improvements.
What we require from our job applicants
*Prior experience working on a mixed cropping and livestock farm. Dryland cropping and animal husbandry/management knowledge would be an advantage.
*A good understanding of general everyday farm operations.
*Excellent attention to detail and high awareness to quality of work carried out.
*Maintaining high safety standards present on farm.
*Effective communication and teamwork skills.
*A positive attitude and ability to work in a range of variable seasonal conditions.
*A current drivers licence (class c NSW or equivalent).
