The Senior Risk Advisor will contribute to the design and enhancement of risk management processes and gain exposure to many types of risk across divisions, sites and all levels of the organisation. The team is proud of its diligent and collaborative approach to support Mercy Health's leadership in making effective decisions to protect and create value.The team works closely with other Mercy Health functions including Emergency Management, Work Health and Safety, Clinical Governance, Cyber Security and Planning to support organisation resilience, sustainability and growth. The team reports to the Chief Risk and Assurance Officer and its work is reported up to the Executive and Board level.Key AccountabilitiesEngage with internal stakeholders to identify, research, assess and manage potential risks to our strategy, business plans and major projects.Undertake systematic bi-annual risk reviews and draft risk profile reports for divisional, site and other management committees.Provide assurance on the effectiveness of critical risks, controls and risk treatment plans.Deliver and improve training to increase employee's risk management capability.Be the System Administrator who maintains and optimises the Risk Register System (CAMMS) including user settings, system configuration, training and reports.Engage with external risk and healthcare peers to inform management of emerging risks and support collaboration with other organisations to manage shared risks.Represent the Enterprise Risk Function in organisation committees and project working groups.What you'll bringIt takes a special kind of person to work in healthcare or community services. This role would suit someone looking to step up from a risk analyst or advisor position.Desirable: Familiarity with the health and aged care sector.Ability to explain the core concepts of risk management standards e.g. ISO 31000 and the Victorian Government Risk Management Framework.Problem solving and consulting skills.Ability to investigate, transform and report data in an impactful way to provide insights.Excellent written and verbal communication and confident at building positive stakeholder relationships.Commitment to the mission and values of Mercy Health and Catholic Health - this includes a requirement to be highly principled and embrace the values of Mercy Health.Essential: Strong Microsoft Office skills.
