Company This modern Australian-based accounting firm has built its operating model around technology, automation and AI, with the clear objective of improving efficiency and allowing accountants to focus on higher-value client work rather than administrative bottlenecks. The partners are commercially astute, approachable and highly experienced, representing a new generation of leadership within the profession. The firm services a high-quality client base, primarily larger and more complex private groups, and provides end-to-end accounting and financial support well beyond traditional year-end compliance. Rather than operating as a transactional tax practice, the firm maintains ongoing engagement with clients throughout the year, supporting them with cash flow forecasting, 3-way financial modelling, budgeting and longer-term strategic and succession planning. The intention is to act as a long-term outsourced finance partner, not simply a compliance provider. As a Xero-based practice, systems and processes are structured and well defined, creating a stable and organised working environment for fully remote staff. Position This is a 100% work-from-home opportunity. A full remote setup is provided, including dual monitors and ergonomic equipment to ensure a professional and efficient home office environment. Despite being fully remote, the firm places a strong emphasis on connection and development. Weekly team huddles, structured training sessions and quarterly in-person catch-ups in major capital cities are part of the rhythm, with travel and accommodation covered by the business. You will support the management of a portfolio of clients, many of which have turnover exceeding $15 million per annum and operate across more complex entity structures. The role provides a strong technical grounding in compliance, with structured exposure to advisory work as your capability develops. Key responsibilities will include Preparation of BAS and IAS, along with income tax compliance across individuals, sole traders, partnerships, companies, trusts and groups Preparation of general and special purpose financial statements, with exposure to CGT, FBT and broader tax considerations Assisting with cash flow forecasting, 3-way financial modelling, budgeting and management reporting as part of ongoing client engagement The firm operates with clear communication rhythms and defined workflow processes to ensure remote staff are supported, connected and set up for success. There is genuine scope to progress into greater client ownership and more advanced advisory responsibility over time. Candidate The firm is seeking an Intermediate Accountant with a solid foundation in business services compliance and a genuine interest in building long-term advisory capability. To be considered for this position, you will have: Full working rights and currently based in Australia 3 years’ experience within Australian Public Practice Accounting Currently completing CA or CPA (or planning to commence) Experience across business services and tax compliance, including BAS, financial statements and income tax Exposure to companies, trusts and group structures Strong written and verbal communication skills The ability to work independently within a structured remote environment Experience working with larger and more complex clients will be highly regarded, but attitude and willingness to learn are equally important. Comprehensive mentoring and structured training are provided, and the firm places a strong emphasis on professional development within a progressive, technology-driven environment. This role would suit someone looking for genuine flexibility while continuing to develop technically, commercially and strategically within a modern advisory practice. Additional Opportunities Alongside this position, I am currently engaged on a number of assignments across the accounting and financial services sector. These include client services, operations, and accounting opportunities at both boutique firms and larger practices.
