Bains Electricals About the Role We are seeking a qualified and experienced Electrical Engineering Technician to support our growing operations.
The successful candidate will assist in the design, installation, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems across residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Key Responsibilities Assist engineers in the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems and equipment. Prepare technical drawings, wiring diagrams, layouts, and specifications.
Conduct testing, fault finding, and analysis of electrical systems and components. Install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment, switchboards, distribution boards, and circuits. Monitor system performance and carry out preventative maintenance to avoid breakdowns.
Use diagnostic tools and equipment (including thermal imaging and testing devices) to identify faults and inefficiencies. Ensure all work complies with Australian standards, codes, and safety regulations. Assist in commissioning electrical systems and verifying operational efficiency.
Record and maintain accurate documentation of inspections, maintenance, and repairs. Support cost estimation, materials selection, and project planning activities. Key Requirements AQF Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Minimum 1–2 years of relevant industry experience. Strong understanding of electrical systems, power distribution, and control systems. Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
Experience with testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical equipment. Knowledge of workplace health & safety (WHS) practices and compliance requirements. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
