The Opportunity
Join Medibank's Digital Delivery team as a Senior API Developer, where you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our API ecosystem.
This is a hands-on development role with a strong focus on delivering high-quality, scalable, and secure API solutions. You'll work within agile squads, mentor developers, and champion best practices that drive innovation and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
1. Design & Development: Build and maintain APIs and integration solutions using technologies like SpringBoot, Apache Camel, and microservices.
2. Technology Leadership: Set and uphold coding standards, mentor team members, and foster a culture of quality and collaboration.
3. Agile Delivery: Participate in sprint planning, user story refinement, and all aspects of agile project delivery.
4. Quality & Automation: Contribute to code reviews, improve automation, and implement best practices for secure and efficient delivery.
5. Support & Innovation: Provide Level 2 and 3 support for production issues, identify trends, and deliver process improvements and innovation initiatives.
6. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with product owners, developers, and cross-functional teams to align API capabilities with business needs.
Must Haves
7. Experience: 10+ years in API and integration development, with strong expertise in REST, SOAP, and messaging patterns.
8. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Java, GraphQL,, SpringBoot, Apache Camel, and microservices architecture.
9. Cloud & DevOps: Hands-on experience with AWS services and exposure to DevOps practices in a 24x7 environment.
10. Integration Knowledge: Deep understanding of API management, SOA, middleware, and legacy integration techniques.
11. Tools & Practices: Familiarity with build and automation tools (Maven, Jenkins, Bamboo) and Agile methodologies.
12. Collaboration: Ability to mentor developers and work effectively in cross-functional teams.
