OverviewMaintenance Supervisor/Manager role in the Engineering Team at Stamford Grand Adelaide.
Permanent full-time position located at Glenelg overlooking Glenelg Beach.
Rotating shifts including weekends.Duties and ResponsibilitiesFinancialWork with the reporting manager to develop annual budgets for approval.
Review manning, resources etc. and recommend opportunities for optimisation.
Assist to track, review and ensure the department operates within the approved budgetParticipate in the feasibility study and analysis of engineering/ maintenance/ CAPEX projects requiring inputs from EngineeringAs directed, prepare and submit CAPEX proposals.
Follow through the process from submission to approval and respond to queries from management in a timely mannerManage all approved projects within approved budget and timelineEnsure all equipment, services and supplies used are of optimal quality and procured at the most competitive ratesSchedule/ manage preventative maintenance programs on all plant and equipment to preserve/maximise the lifespan of our investmentsWork with the reporting manager to identify and roll out programmes to reduce energy and utility consumption costs in the hotelCustomerResponsible for the overall maintenance/useability of appliances and equipment in guest rooms, function rooms, staff offices, F&B; outlets and public areasPlan and coordinate maintenance work plans with various departments to minimise downtime/ impact on operations and guest experienceEnsure all down time/ service time affecting guest experience are promptly resolved.
Where necessary, perform service recoveryLog all issues with clear details and track time taken to resolve issues.
Identify service gaps and develop improvement plans to reduce future occurrencesPolicies & ProceduresMonitor the optimal operating efficiencies of machinery, plant and equipment.
Schedule regular preventive checks to upkeep plant and equipment according to standardsMaintain files of architectural, mechanical, and electrical as built drawingsMaintain building Warrant of Fitness record manual for annual inspectionMaintain complete files of manufacturer data, specifications, and manuals on machinery and equipmentPerform proper due diligence on contracted works, service agreements and product requisitionsStrict compliance with company policies and procedures, particularly on tender processes, vendor/supplier selection and raising/signing internal documents such as purchase ordersProvide regular updates on Maintenance mattersProject ManagementCoordinate and liaise with contractors, head office and hotel team on OPEX and CAPEX projectsAssist to monitor the daily progress at the project siteEnsure compliance with all health, safety and quality assurance procedures and standardsProvide technical knowledge and support in design and preparation of work specifications for project worksCoordinate project plan and delivery with all appointed consultants/contractorsCompliance & Risk ManagementEnsure personal and team compliance with all Hotel & department\'s P&Ps; (WHS, Code of Conduct etc.) and all applicable external laws, regulations, standards and industry codesDrive safety culture in the hotel.
Ensure team/staff members, suppliers and contractors adhere to all Workplace Health and Safety rules and regulations, policies and proceduresParticipate in risk management meetings and activities to identify, assess and control risks in the workplaceEnsure safety inspections on equipment are carried out regularlyEnsure that all work is conducted in a safe manner and without risk to the safety of employees and other persons at the workplacePeopleCoach and mentor team members in their performance.
Where appropriate, participate in performance reviews, feedback and PIP of team membersAssist the reporting manager to proactively identify talents and support their development through providing adequate training and development opportunities to excel in his/her positionLead by example.
Provide support and/or stand in for other team members when there are insufficient resources in the departmentOther/ProjectsProvide support on other projects as and when requiredPerform other duties, tasks or special projects as assignedKnowledge and ExperienceA degree in either electrical or mechanical engineering is preferredMinimum 3 years of experience in a similar capacityGood command of written and spoken EnglishTrade qualification(s) essential.
