The Role:
Reporting directly to the Payroll Manager you will be responsible for supporting the Manager and working closely with other staff in the Finance team.
You will provide an efficient and effective payroll services across the organisation and all associated businesses, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of salaries in accordance with relevant awards, agreements and legislative requirements including all aspects of employee pay and related entitlements.
Key areas of Responsibilities:
* Manage and maintain the payroll system including regular pay runs, superannuation, salary packaging, and termination payments.
* Prepare payroll reports for monthly accounts including but not limited to cost analysis and employee entitlement reports.
* Drive continuous improvement of payroll processes, systems, and documentation.
* Maintain staff employment records including tax file numbers, superannuation records and all payroll records as per regulatory requirements and Doutta Galla policies.
* Process details related to new employees, variations to employment details, back pay, terminations, alterations to banking details, sick leave, annual leave and maintain long service leave record keeping.
* Check and input data for employees with WorkCover claims including compensation and accident pay in consultation with Risk, OHS and Wellbeing Manager
* Remit PAYE Tax, Superannuation and Child Support to relevant authorities within specified timeframes and in accordance with relevant legislation and regulatory requirements in consultation with Payroll Manager and Senior Accountant
* Process ad hoc Award, Certified Agreement and Employment Agreement variations.
The Successful Candidate will have the following experience and skills:
* Tertiary qualification in Finance or Accounting
* Extensive experience managing payroll for approximately 900 employees
* Sound understanding of basic payroll controls and procedures
* Comprehensive knowledge and ability to understand and interpret relevant legislation and Awar
* Experience in the not-for-profit sector (desirab

* Demonstrated knowledge and experience with basic accounting controls and procedures, and with large accounting systems / software – preferably Access (Formally Sage Micropay) and/ or Epicor
* Proficient IT skills and strong time management.
