Job Description About the team and the role The Planning & Delivery team delivers critical planning, design and the capital building and infrastructure program that enable Sydney Airport to achieve its strategic objectives. Planning & Delivery adopts a customer centric approach to our engagement with all internal stakeholders, providing transparency and demonstrable value for money in our dealings with external stakeholders and delivering its results in a way that mitigates unplanned disruptions to ongoing airport operations for all our stakeholders, travelers and the public. Sydney Airport (SYD) is transitioning to model-centric management for projects and regulatory information. The BIM Lead will oversee this change, ensuring the integrity and dissemination of BIM data, and provide training to the Spatial team and wider organisation. Responsibilities include developing and advocating SYD BIM Standards, collaborating with Design Managers and Project Delivery teams, and engaging with Facilities Stakeholders. A key challenge is developing a comprehensive BIM platform and integrating new infrastructure across older civic buildings. In this role, you will have the opportunity to Oversee and advocate BIM implementation and development across SYD, manage and support BIM Coordinators, and provide support to internal and external BIM managers and project leads.Manage the SYD BIM content library, including development of families, templates, title blocks, documentation of processes and standards, delivery of Digital Information Plans and Strategies, and design and delivery of internal training programs.Collaborate with stakeholders, designers, architects, engineers and BIM CoordinatorsCoordinate and oversee the SYD master BIM, ensuring data structure integrity, conformity with SYD's data definitions and standards, and reviewing BIM budgets within project contracts.Develop and review BIM Execution Plans for each project, ensure adherence to standards, review project tenders for appropriate costings, audit project team activities, liaise with supply chain BIM Managers, and coordinate information distribution to SYD consultants and project partners. About you We are seeking a team-focused leader with a positive attitude, strong organisational skills, and high attention to detail. You demonstrate confidentiality, professionalism, and resilience & are capable of managing multiple projects, establishing positive relationships, and prioritise workload. You will need excellent communication and customer service skills & ability to influence and articulate complex concepts effectively. The ideal candidate will possess tertiary qualifications or demonstrate equivalent experience, with a minimum of 10 years' involvement in BIM for major civic infrastructure projects in Australia. This must include at least 5 years in a BIM Lead/Manager role, overseeing projects from design through to construction and operational phases. You must be proficient in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud and BIM360, with knowledge of Bentley ProjectWise, MicroStation and other relevant software tools highly desirable. Experience in integrating new infrastructure within existing buildings, strong Microsoft Office skills, and a proven ability to manage stakeholders are essential.
