Senior Civil Structural Engineer

To excel in this role, you will have a tertiary qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering, acceptable for admission as a professional engineer to Engineers Australia, or equivalent professional body. You should also have minimum 10 years' experience in structural and civil design and design review of high voltage substations including gantries structures, transformer slabs and fire walls, oil containment systems, switchyard structures, footings, control buildings, earthworks, drainage, and roads. Additionally, you should have experience in due diligence / Risk assessment of civil and structural components of renewable energy projects. Experience in civil design and design review of renewable projects, including solar farm earthworks, roads, erosion and sedimentation control, PV racking systems, geotechnical specification, pile design, pile test specification, battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) including battery, inverter, transformer footings, wind farm earthworks, roads, hardstands, erosion and sedimentation control, wind turbine foundations, site inspections and quality assurance reviews, and transmission line towers and structures and foundations is highly desirable. Previous experience in an engineering design consultancy environment is essential. You should be able to solve complex technical and operational problems, either through a systematic approach or innovation. Client and project management are also crucial skills for this role. The role is based in either our Hobart or Melbourne office; however, flexible work arrangements are also considered. Given the diversity of our clients and projects, there may be some local, national and international travel required.
