Opportunity
Due to our continued and expected growth, we are seeking a suitably experienced FIFO Mechanic with strong Heavy Duty Diesel experience to join our Bibra Lake Trailer Repairs operations in a FIFO capacity from Perth to Karratha WA. This position based in our Karratha Workshop will be responsible for conducting all servicing, maintenance and repairs for our road transport equipment with preferred experience in Volvo, Mack, Kenworth and Heavy Haulage trailers & general trailing equipment. Platform experience will be highly regarded.
Job responsibilities
* Undertaking and completing scheduled maintenance, servicing, repairs, and general preventative fleet maintenance.
* Attending to breakdowns and diagnosing maintenance problems.
* Completing all necessary paperwork – job cards, maintenance checklists, work orders, service reports.
* Performing general heavy vehicle and mobile plant maintenance and repairs at Karratha and on surrounding regional worksites as required.
* Focusing on general servicing, repairs, scheduled maintenance and breakdowns of all plant and equipment without rebuilding motors or transmissions.
Qualifications
* Experience with Prime Mover, Heavy Haulage platform trailers and general trailing equipment.
* Experience in Kenworth, Volvo, Isuzu, MAN and DAF trucks.
* Relevant licences and tickets (unrestricted manual C Class licence required).
* MC Licence would be an advantage.
* Experience with CAT or Cummins engines.
* Experience working from heights.
* Ability to complete tasks within timeframes and strong time‐management skills.
* Self‐motivated and capable of working alone or as part of a team.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with good listening skills.
* Compliance with drug and alcohol screening.
* Willingness to undergo a pre‐employment medical.
* Knowledge of FIFO 2 and 1 swing arrangements.
