Terra Firma Laboratories is a growing NATA-accredited Construction Materials Testing laboratory based in Kardinya, WA. We are looking for motivated Soil and Concrete Technicians to join our team and support a wide range of civil, infrastructure, commercial and remote projects across Western Australia.
This role offers a mix of Perth-based work and potential FIFO opportunities, making it ideal for technicians who want variety, practical field and laboratory role involving early starts, site travel, manual handling, outdoor work, concrete sampling, soil testing and accurate recording of results.
About the Role
As a Soil and Concrete Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out field and laboratory testing in accordance with Australian Standards, client requirements and NATA quality procedures.
* Sampling and testing concrete on site, including slump testing, moulding cylinders and recording site data.
* Carrying out soil testing including field density testing, compaction testing, sampling and laboratory preparation.
* Performing testing in both field and laboratory environments.
* Operating, maintaining and cleaning testing equipment.
* Accurately recording results and communicating with supervisors, clients and project teams.
* Working safely and contributing to a strong team culture.
* Travelling to regional or remote project sites when required.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, understands the importance of accurate testing, and is reliable both on site and in the laboratory.
* Previous experience in Construction Materials Testing, preferably soils and concrete.
* A strong understanding of field-testing requirements.
* Good attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
* The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* A safety-first attitude.
* Willingness to work across Perth metro projects and FIFO locations when required.
To be considered for this role, applicants should have:
* Minimum 12 months' experience in an Australian CMT Technician role preferred.
* White Card.
* Ability to pass a pre-employment medical.
* Current or ability to obtain a police clearance.
* NATA-recognised or industry-relevant qualifications desirable, but not essential.
