**About the Role**:
We are seeking a committed and customer-focused individual to join our team as an Afternoon Shift Clerk for the Same Day/Day of Surgery department.
**Your role will involve**:
- Providing administrative support to the Same Day/Day of Surgery team.
- Establishing and fostering positive working relationships with staff across all levels of the organisation to support and achieve collective goals.
- Demonstrating adaptability to shifting priorities and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Effectively prioritising workload and performing responsibilities with a high degree of accuracy and accountability.
**Key skills for this role**:

Proficiency in electronic systems and computer software is required to ensure successful job outcomes, alongside the ability to prioritise your workload effectively and carry out responsibilities with high accuracy and responsibility.

- Monday & Tuesday, 1200-2030
- Supported by the Administration Manager of Surgical Services.
**Where You'll Be Working**:
John Hunter Hospital is a leading healthcare and innovation hub, providing services to communities across the Hunter, New England, and North Coast regions. This role is based within the Surgical Services Department, a dynamic and fast-paced environment supporting 15 operating theatres. Specialties include:
Orthopaedics, Multi-Trauma, Obstetrics, Gynaecology, Head & Neck, Vascular, Angiography, Neurosurgery, Cardiothoracic, ENT, and General Surgery.
**About You**:
- Strong planning, prioritising, and organisational skills to achieve work outcomes.
- High attention to detail and accuracy across a range of systems and administrative processes.
- Effective listening and questioning skills, especially in a customer service setting.
- Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
- Confidence using a variety of electronic systems and software tools.
**Support/Training**
The successful applicant will receive comprehensive support through an induction and training program, which includes both face-to-face and online training, along with mentorship to facilitate a smooth transition into the role. We ideally would like to roster 2 weeks of training to begin with.
