The Role
This role is event-focused, involving the delivery of unforgettable weddings, welcome receptions, and recovery functions across a sprawling estate. Our client seeks a restaurant manager who can lead and ensure each event is executed with precision and flair. Responsibilities include coordinating logistics, leading casual event teams, supporting bar and service flow during key functions, and providing calm, confident leadership during high-impact service days. A strong understanding of front-of-house operations and food & beverage service is essential to uphold the high standards of this premium venue. The role also involves stock and beverage oversight, structured training of new team members, and continuous improvements to operational processes.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead event execution from setup (bump-in) to breakdown (bump-out)
* Manage and mentor casual service staff across multiple event zones
* Deliver high-end front-of-house service, including bar, floor, and guest interaction
* Maintain stock levels, manage beverage orders, and oversee month-end procedures
* Oversee and support the delivery of exceptional food and beverage service during all functions
* Contribute to beverage and cocktail menu development (creativity encouraged!)
* Support new staff training with structure, follow-through, and clear expectations
* Ensure service runs smoothly and calmly, even on large wedding days
* Communicate effectively with other Venue Managers and the Hospitality Director
Required Skills and Experience
* Previous experience in premium hospitality – events, weddings, or hotels
* Ability to adapt easily to a fast-paced, hands-on environment
* Comfort working during busy periods (wedding weekends can be large)
* Bar and beverage knowledge – cocktail creation is a plus
* Confidence in managing casual staff and providing hands-on training
* Organized with a strategic mindset – including rostering, briefings, and service planning
