About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Program Quality Engineer to lead quality engineering activities across assigned programs. Building on the technical depth of Levels 1–3, this senior-level role emphasizes leadership in RCCA, customer interaction, program-level quality planning, MRB representation, data-driven analysis, and continuous improvement. The Program QE serves as the primary point of contact for customer quality engagement and ensures that quality requirements are fully integrated into production and engineering processes.
Responsibilities
A Quality Engineer in this role serves as a key technical partner on the production floor, leading investigations of nonconforming parts and processes, documenting and processing WTs, and supporting MRB defect planning from initial discovery through final disposition. The position collaborates closely with engineering, operations, and inspection teams to drive timely defect resolution, collect objective evidence for RCCA, verify containment and rework, and contribute to continuous improvement and defect‑reduction initiatives. Responsibilities include supporting FAI planning and reviews, maintaining Quality Plans and inspection checklists, and preparing defect summaries, trend analyses, and quality metrics for Corrective Action Board, MRB, and program leadership.
This role also manages quality‑related systems and documentation by using SAP/MES to track work orders, update records, and ensure accurate tagging of nonconformances. The Quality Engineer reviews work instructions, and planning documents for accuracy and compliance; additionally, supports internal audit readiness through documentation gathering and record validation. The position participates in internal, customer, and FAA audits; attends cross‑functional meetings as a quality representative; and supports compliance reviews and process assessments. Daily engagement on the production floor—through walk‑downs, FAI support, and real‑time feedback to operations—is essential to ensuring process adherence, strengthening quality controls, and sustaining a culture of continuous improvement.

• Generate and present periodic Quality metrics for internal leadership, assigned programs, and customer updates.
• Conduct daily SAP ZROUTSTAT review to validate work order changes and ensure implementation accuracy.
Technical Review & Documentation Ownership
• Review CIMS packages for potential quality impacts and ensure proper integration of quality requirements into change management.
• Support TeamCenter specification reviews and assesses impacts on production and inspection processes.
• Provide MRB support through creation of dispositions and guidance to inspectors and junior engineers.
• Support FAI site focal to coordinate internal and customer-required FAI activities.
Continuous Improvement & Quality Systems Support
• Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives across assigned programs focused on process control, defect reduction, and operational efficiency.
• Participate in internal, FAA, and customer-facing meetings to present quality performance, trends, and improvement actions.
• Participate in FAA and customer audits as the program quality representative.
• Support internal audit programs, assist in closure actions, and strengthen compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS).
Mentorship & Technical Coaching
• Mentor junior engineers, technicians, and inspectors in RCCA tools, quality principles, and best practices.
• Provide technical guidance to cross-functional teams to ensure quality objectives are met.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience, with 4+ years in aerospace quality or manufacturing engineering.
• Solid experience with root cause and corrective action methodologies (8D, 5-Whys, Fishbone, etc.).
• Lean Green Belt certification (preferred).
• Strong customer-facing communication skills and ability to present technical information clearly.
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, QMS standards, and change management documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams through problem-solving and improvement activities.
