Program Manager, Event Partnerships (Maternity Leave Contract)

Experience Gold Coast is seeking a proactive, strategic, and highly organised Program Manager to lead the program management function of our Event Partnerships Program, the Gold Coast’s major event acquisition and attraction program.

You’ll manage the governance, financials, data reporting and operational delivery of the program while supporting the attraction and acquisition of a diverse and high-value portfolio of major events that deliver strong economic, social, and reputational benefits to the city.

This position is a 12-month maternity leave contract.

What You’ll Do

- Lead the program management function for EGC’s Event Partnerships Program, ensuring strong governance, policy alignment, and strategic alignment.
- Manage the Program budget, capturing commitments, forecasting expenditure, and preparing required Program budget reporting.
- Manage and record Program data – tracking event outcomes and reporting on key data and event insights.
- Manage the assessment and approval processes for current event funding applications, ensuring consistency and alignment with program guidelines and objectives.
- Prepare board reports, corporate governance documents, and program insights to support informed investment decisions and program operations.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with event organisers, venues, industry partners, and government stakeholders.
- Research and stay across national and international trends in event acquisition to maintain the Gold Coast’s competitive edge.
- Provide high-level support to management for Program reporting requirements.
- Negotiate event funding agreements to maximise value for the city.

What You’ll Bring

- Minimum 5 years’ experience in event, sponsorship and/or grant management, program management, or event data insights.
- Expertise in program and/or project management, with proven success in achieving results.
- Strong budget management experience and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong analytical skills to review and interpret data for insights and decision-making.
- High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn new CRM software.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with experience fostering collaborative relationships across government, industry, and venue partners.
- Exceptional organisational, administrative, and time management abilities.
