About the Area
The Legal, Assurance and Integrity Division provides a centralised and coordinated approach to complaints, investigations, wellbeing and safety across the University. The Complaints & Investigations Team operates under a hybrid model, managing disclosures, complaints and investigations in partnership with academic and professional units. The team plays a key role in supporting fair, transparent and student centred processes that uphold the University's commitment to integrity, accountability and high quality decision making.
About the Role
The Appeals and Administrative Support Officer coordinates the activities of the Student Ombudsman and provides high level administrative support across a range of student appeal processes. You will liaise with students and staff to gather background information, arrange conciliation meetings, manage record keeping systems, and act as Executive Officer to committees and working groups that support the Student Ombudsman's functions.
A major component of the role involves managing the Coursework Student Exclusion Appeals process, including scheduling interviews, convening committee meetings, preparing documentation and drafting outcome notifications. You will also administer the Review of Academic Decision/Review of Grade system, support admission related appeals, and contribute to annual reporting. This role suits someone with strong organisational skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work sensitively with individuals who may be experiencing distress, while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality and professionalism.
