Key Responsibilities
The Corporate Services Branch oversees the efficient, effective, and ethical management of the National Archives' resources, ensuring alignment with the Commonwealth's financial, procurement, employment, security, and property legislative and policy frameworks.
The Finance and Procurement section provides high-quality, timely, and accurate financial and procurement advice and services while meeting legislative and compliance financial framework obligations.
Main Duties:
1. Supervise daily operations of the Finance Accounting & Operations Unit/Management Accounting Unit to deliver timely and high-quality core financial functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, travel, and credit card administration.
2. Internal and external financial and regulatory reporting, including Senate enquiries, CBMS requirements, and tax returns.
3. Preparation of annual financial statements and management of the ANAO audit process.
4. Budget and forecast development, project financial reports, performance analysis.
5. Provide strategic advice and guidance in financial management to support business operations and organisational objectives.
6. Create and maintain a robust internal control environment around financial processes and systems to safeguard the National Archives' resources and integrity of its financial records.
7. Lead and manage a small team, investing in staff development to build long-term capability in finance functions.
8. Demonstrate innovation to deliver continuous business improvement in financial systems and processes.
9. Build and maintain effective, professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
10. Support the Chief Financial Officer as needed.
11. Promote and apply the APS and National Archives values and contemporary people management principles and practices in diversity, workplace health and safety, and participative management.
