Development Manager

We are seeking a highly experienced Development Manager with extensive knowledge in residential and land lease community property developments. The successful candidate will take a hands-on leadership role across the entire project lifecycle from due diligence; feasibility assessment; and design through to development approval; delivery; and handover, ensuring high-quality outcomes in acquisition, approvals, design, construction, stakeholder engagement, and full compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Project Feasibility - Undertake due diligence, feasibility assessments, and financial modelling to support informed development decisions.
* Land Acquisition – Identify and secure suitable sites while managing planning approvals and regulatory requirements.
* Design Coordination – Lead and coordinate consultants to deliver design outcomes that align with project objectives and compliance standards.
* Project Delivery – Oversee construction programs, budgets, and timelines to ensure high-quality and timely project completion.
* Stakeholder Engagement – Build and maintain strong relationships with councils, investors, and community stakeholders.
* Financial Management – Manage project budgets, cash flow, and risk to ensure commercial success across all development stages.
Skills & Experience
* Minimum 5+ years’ direct experience in Development Management within land lease communities, manufactured housing estates, or retirement living.
* Strong background in property development, planning legislation, and large-scale community projects.
* Proven ability to manage multi-million-dollar budgets and complex approval processes.
* Exceptional stakeholder management and negotiation skills, with experience dealing with councils and regulatory bodies.
* Strong commercial acumen with experience in financial feasibility and contract management.
* Ability to work autonomously and lead cross-functional teams with strategic oversight and hands-on execution.
