About the opportunity
We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Succession Lawyer with at least 6 years post-admission experience to join our Private Clients and Taxation team.
Working alongside leading practitioners in the succession field, you will have the opportunity to be heavily involved in a variety of matters related to succession planning (both business and personal), trust law, probate, administration of complex estates and family provision disputes.
You will work with individual clients from diverse backgrounds, including high net wealth private clients and business owners, large farming families, business enterprises and private charitable foundations.
Key activities and role responsibilities include:
* Reviewing client documents and assisting in the preparation and provision of strategic personal and business succession advice for high net wealth family groups and business owners;
* Assisting individual and high net wealth clients and business owners document and implement effective personal and business succession strategies for their particular circumstances;
* Assisting executors in obtaining probate and attending to the administration of a variety of large or complex estates;
* Assisting clients in providing advice and assistance in estate litigation related matters; and
* Providing legal advice on complex issues of statutory interpretation relevant to estate, guardianship and trust law related issues affecting clients.
Our successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
* minimum of 6 years post-admission experience;
* a keen interest in and good understanding of the succession practice area;
* strong communication skills;
* the ability to work autonomously and in a team environment;
* excellent technical, drafting and advocacy skills; and
* a demonstrated commerciality and client focus.
