Grange Resources Tasmania is on the lookout for a Mine Operations Supervisor to join our operation in Savage River.
Exciting opportunity for Mine Operations Supervisor to join the operations team.
This position reports to Assistant Mine Superintendent and requires you to coordinate, plan and supervise all open pit activities.
Day to day
In this role you will be responsible for:
* Coordinate, plan and supervise all open pit activities and meet the required production and quality targets as defined in the budgets and forecasts
* Monitor and analyse production data to identify opportunities for process improvements and optimisation
* Ensure all mining activities are carried out in accordance with relevant health, safety and environmental regulations
* Implement and enforce safety procedures to protect the wellbeing of the workforce
* Liaise with other departmental managers to ensure seamless integration of mining activities with broader site operations
* Monitor and control activities to ensure all loads are stockpiled or dumped in the correct location
* Provide on-site leadership and mentorship to develop the skills and capabilities of the operations team
Who you are
To be successful in this role you have:
* Extensive experience (5+ years) in a mine operations supervisory role or as a senior mine operator
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, production data and operational plans
* Tertiary qualifications in Metalliferous Mining or a related discipline
* Strong working knowledge of mining equipment, processes and safety protocols
* Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
* Commitment to upholding the highest standards of workplace health and safety
* Basic survey, drill and blast
* Current driver's licence and certification for operating heavy machinery

Grange holds long term supply contracts for one million tonnes of its annual production and offers the balance of its production to market via a spot sales tendering/contracting process.
Savage River
The Savage River magnetite iron ore mine is a long-life mining asset where ore is mined and processed before it is transported by pipeline to Grange's pellet plant and ship loading facility at Port Latta.
The Savage River worksite is only an hour and half drive away from the vibrant coastal towns of north-west Tasmania, which offers a fantastic regional lifestyle and is only an hour's flight from Melbourne with regular services from airports at Burnie, Devonport and Launceston.
