RAATISCC are looking for a committed, skilled and passionate individual to join the friendly RAATSICC team as a Client Services Officer – Leaving Violence Program - Level 4 - Cairns based.

Position Purpose:

The primary responsibility of the Leaving Violence Program Client Services Officer is responsible for providing case management practices to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who have experienced Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) to have access to financial support and goods/services for their immediate needs to live safely.

The Opportunity:

• This position is full-time and is Cairns based.

• Provide up to 12 weeks of case management support, including risk assessments, safety planning and connecting individuals to services supporting their support plans.

• Provide trauma-informed, client-centred and culturally safe services in a ethical, accountable and timely fashion.

• Assist eligible individuals to set goals and develop support plans that support their safety.

• Provide emotional and practical support, ensuring individuals feel supported and empowered with options to make informed decisions that enhance their safety.

• Implement intervention strategies, ensuring timely and effective responses to immediate safety concerns.

• Ensure quality client records are accurate, factual and kept up to date in appropriate database/s with all relevant documentation.

About You:

• Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality practices and organisational policy procedures.

• An ability to work in a culturally respectful and competent manner, with Aboriginal young people, their families and communities, to ensure that cultural connections are fostered and maintained.

• Understand the effects and trauma and how they relate to victim/s of Family and Domestic Violence and associated vulnerable family members.

• Have effective time management skills (punctuality, meeting deadlines, prioritising tasks).

• Be a productive, passionate and positive contributor to an already established team that are dedicated in making a difference to vulnerable people's lives.

• Have a proficient level of computer skills and also of relevant up-to-date technology and software programs.
