We are seeking a compassionate, reliable Support Worker to provide high-quality, person‐centered care for a female participant living with Parkinson's Disease. This role is based in a welcoming family home and offers a mix of weekday and weekend shifts, including active shifts and sleepovers.
About the Role
You will be supporting a participant who resides with her family in a Supported Independent Living (SIL)-style family home. The participant has chosen to remain living in her own home and requires 24/7 support. A private room will be provided for sleepover shifts, along with a designated workspace.
Service Days & Hours
Weekdays
* Day shifts: 7.4 hours
* Short day shifts: 6 hours
* Evening shifts: 2 hours
* Sleepover shifts: 8 hours
Weekends
* Saturday: 16 hours
* Sunday: 18 hours
Flexible rostering available depending on availability.
Key Responsibilities
* Assisting with personal care and daily living tasks
* Providing self‐assistance support
* Manual handling and mobility assistance
* Supporting community access and social participation
* Delivering consistent and respectful care with a mental health–informed approach
* Working collaboratively with family members within the home
Essential Requirements
* Previous experience supporting clients with Parkinson's Disease or similar complex needs (highly regarded)
* Mental health experience
* Ability to perform manual handling safely
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Compassionate, patient, and reliable approach to care
* Female applicants only (genuine occupational requirement)
* Certificate in Aged Care or Disability is highly preferred
