Reporting to the RTO manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of high quality and compliant training that results in successful outcomes for students. You will support students using a personalised learning approach, maintain records of student progress and contribute to the continuous improvement and strategic direction of the school.
The ideal candidate for this role will have demonstrated skills and experience in delivering building and construction / carpentry or engineering qualifications to students with diverse learning needs and from a range of settings, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, speakers of English as an additional language or dialect, young people with learning difficulties and early school leavers. You will plan and implement a program of instruction related to building students.
Specific responsibilities of the role will include:
* Deliver a range of activities for a balanced program of instruction that will provide students with opportunities to learn and engage in activities focusing on training, employment and personal development.
* Maintain individual training plans to meet the individual student's learning ability, ensuring compliance with VET Quality Framework.
* Build relationships and network with employers, stakeholders, training providers and community links.
Experience in delivering vocational training or developing apprentices will be highly valued as will a demonstrated capacity to build relationships and networks with employers and other stakeholders to support young people to gain entry into the building and construction field.
Mandatory Requirements:
* Current Working with children Check Clearance (Blue Card)
* Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116/40122) (The successful candidate may be supported to complete or upgrade to this qualification if required)
* Qualification or trade certificate in a relevant area
* Completed units of competency
* CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry
* CPCCWHS2001 Apply WWHS requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry
* Demonstrated relevant Industry experience and currency
* An understanding of the Australian Governments Core Skills for Work Developmental Framework
* Experience with competency based training in foundation skills and pre-employment training
