The Opportunity The biggest frustration for a talented Development Manager is often the "silo." You're either stuck in the high-volume machinery of land subdivision, or you're focused exclusively on the vertical complexity of built form. It's rare to find a seat that allows you to master the alchemy of both. We are partnering with a highly capitalised, privately held developer currently overseeing a sophisticated pipeline of master-planned communities across Perth. Unlike the rigid structures of a listed entity, this group operates with a flat hierarchy and an entrepreneurial spirit. They are looking for a Development Manager who wants to manage a core land subdivision portfolio, and if desired, the opportunity to integrate the built form products that give a community its character. Offering a diverse project mix that is usually split between two different departments in other organisations. Why apply While this role is centred on a major master-planned land portfolio in Perth's growth corridors, our client operates with a level of agility that others can't match. If you have an interest in Built Form, you won't be boxed in. As the portfolio evolves, there is a genuine appetite for this person to lead built-form integration. You get the stability of land with the architectural complexity of built form. We know the market. We know the salary benchmarks. While its competitive, the real "why" here is about sovereignty and mentorship: Direct Access: You aren't buried under five layers of management. You will work alongside industry icons who have weathered every market cycle. Legacy Over Volume: They aren't interested in "churn and burn" estates. You'll be managing projects where the amenity, landscaping, and community soul come first. Autonomy: You are the CEO of your project. From DA through to titles and sales handover, you own the P&L and the vision. What You Bring to the Table You're likely a Development Manager looking for a more "human" culture, or ready to step up into a role with more strategic breadth. The Technicals: A degree in Property, Engineering, or Planning, paired with a proven track record in WA land subdivision. The Financials: You can run a feasibility and manage the cashflow of large-scale projects and know exactly where the "levers" are to optimise a project's IRR. The Soft Skills: You can confidently negotiate with a contractor and also present a high-level vision to a stakeholder board. The Culture This is a high-performance environment, but it's anchored by a "family-office" feel. It's about being part of a brand that carries weight in the Perth market.
