Western Australian Specialty Alloys (WASA) is an international market leader in the production of superalloys for forging and ring rolling applications for a range of aerospace, power generation and oil & gas applications. We are a fully owned subsidiary of Precision Castparts Corporation (PCC) a US manufacturing company based in Portland, Oregon.
WAL provides Maintenance Services to the manufacturing facility of Western Australian Specialty Alloys Pty Ltd, a related company engaged in the manufacture of super alloys for aerospace, Oil & Gas and power generation applications.
Airbus, Boeing, GE, Rolls-Royce and many other leading manufacturers depend on PCC for critical airframe, engine, power generation and general industrial components. With few exceptions, every aircraft in the sky flies with parts manufactured by PCC.
We are seeking a Maintenance Electrician to join our team. This role requires someone who is prepared to work within our core values of Courage, Ownership, Collaboration, Integrity, and Innovate.
About the Role
The Electrician is a key member of the Maintenance Department, responsible for the repair, maintenance, and modification of electrical systems and equipment across the plant. This includes the installation of new equipment, inspection and repair of furnaces, and supporting safe and efficient plant operations.
Essential Functions
Duties listed below, but not limited to:
* Maintain and repair electrical equipment throughout the plant
* Perform preventative maintenance and calibration of electrical systems
* Read and interpret electrical drawings and technical specifications
* Support safe systems of work, including hazard identification and risk assessments
* Complete all required maintenance documentation accurately and on time
* Adhere to the WASA Policy Manual and company safety procedures
* Maintain a clean and safe work environment
* Assist other trades and departments as needed
* Perform mechanical and general repairs with minimal supervision
* Participate in a rotating roster and provide support for 24/7 operations
* Assist the IT department with quarterly and annual IT audits (SOX, KPMG, Deloitte, and internal audits).
* Other duties within skills, knowledge and abilities as required by management
Qualifications
This position requires:
* Minimum 5 years of practical experience in a heavy industry environment
* Class A Electrical Industrial License (mandatory)
* Gas fitter qualifications (advantageous)
* Class B Gas Appliance License (advantageous)
* Confined Space, EWP, and PLC licenses (advantageous)
* High Voltage (HV) Switching License (advantageous)
