Job Description
We are seeking an experienced payroll professional to join our team on a flexible, part-time basis.
The role is ideal for a seasoned payroll officer with at least 5 years of experience in end-to-end payroll, having previously worked in large and complex payroll departments and organisations.
* This is a work-from-home environment with 3 days WFH, flexible hours, and potential for extension or permanency.

About the Role
1. Provide support to the team by executing the fortnightly pay run, resolving client inquiries, and managing complex payroll transactions while promoting a high-performing and collaborative team culture.
2. Take ownership of the fortnightly pay run process, including superannuation reporting, terminations, and redundancies, and apply performance metrics to ensure timely, efficient, and accurate payroll services.
3. Assist in monitoring and evaluating payroll processes through relevant tools and systems, implementing corrective actions where necessary to improve outcomes.
4. Act as a key escalation point and subject matter expert for resolving complex payroll issues, ensuring compliance and providing accurate guidance to the team and stakeholders.
5. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing payroll processes, systems, and service delivery by leveraging innovative technologies and best practices.
6. Support payroll governance by ensuring proper authorisations and documentation are maintained in line with organisational policies and procedures.
7. Contribute to the development of stakeholder engagement strategies to align expectations, improve service satisfaction, and strengthen cross-functional collaboration.
8. Assist in managing reporting and ensuring legislative compliance within the payroll function, maintaining data accuracy across organisational systems and adhering to established standards.
9. Support the Payroll Processing Manager in developing team capabilities by promoting knowledge-building in payroll, critical thinking, and process improvement.
About You
* Minimum 5 years of experience in end-to-end payroll.
* Experience in mentoring and developing team members.
* Strong terminations and redundancies experience.
* Solid payroll tax knowledge.
* Worked with multiple award and EBA.
* Come from a big business industry background with a large and complex payroll environment.
