This is an exciting opportunity to join the multidisciplinary psychosocial Cancer Care Team at St George Hospital, supporting patients and carers through the difficult terrain of dealing with a serious and life-threatening illness. A passionate and dedicated service, the Cancer Care team strive to treat and assist patients whose lives are affected by cancer. The psychology service specifically focuses on providing holistic care within medicine, with an emphasis on patient autonomy, empowerment and meaning, while providing evidence-based treatment. The Role

You will be responsible for the provision of high quality evidence-based psychological assessment and intervention services to patients/consumers of the St George Hospital Cancer Care.Within the compassionate and committed team, you will be delivering specialised psychological assessment, intervention and consultation to assist patients and carers with cancer related concerns and distress.

Selection Criteria
1. Full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia, with Endorsement in Clinical Psychology (or eligibility to progress to same), along with a minimum two-year full-time equivalent Master or Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology.
2. Demonstrated experience in the provision of evidence-based psychological assessment, intervention and evaluation of clinical outcomes with psycho-oncology and/or other health populations
3. Capacity to design and implement short and medium term, individual and group treatment protocols
4. Demonstrate high level written and verbal communication skills, organisational skills and time management skills
5. Ability to provide in-depth advice and education to enhance service delivery and to guide and support others in providing service excellence, with the capacity to provide clinical supervision to other staff
6. Demonstrated experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a health setting
7. Demonstrated experience in and commitment to quality improvement and research
