PARTNER is supporting Aerodrome Management Services (AMS) in the search for a Commercial and Business Development Manager to help strengthen the company's market presence, deepen client relationships, and support its next phase of growth.
This is an important commercial appointment for the business and will suit a capable, credible and proactive operator who can combine relationship management, business development drive and disciplined commercial execution. The role requires someone who is comfortable in the market, confident engaging stakeholders, and able to bring structure and transparency to tendering, proposals and reporting activity.
About AMS
Aerodrome Management Services is an established Australian aviation business providing specialist aerodrome and airport solutions across management, compliance, engineering and operational support. The company describes itself as a "one-stop" provider across all aspects of aerodrome and airport management, with services spanning management and consultancy, aerodrome engineering, safety and technical inspections, training, relief coverage, airport electrical and lighting, refuelling, security and equipment supply.
AMS works with Australian companies, mining operations, local governments and shires, as well as a number of international airports, delivering professional and cost-effective solutions to the aviation industry. Its service capability extends across areas such as certification and compliance, operational audits, emergency planning, manual development, runway and apron works, electrical maintenance, lighting installations, refuelling, security, reporting, training and broader aerodrome operational support. The business also has a national footprint, with its website listing operations and locations across Perth, Darwin, regional Western Australia, Queensland and South Australia.
About the Role
The Commercial and Business Development Manager will hold a key market-facing role for AMS, with responsibility for helping drive growth, strengthen external relationships and support broader commercial activity across the business.
Working closely with internal stakeholders, this role will contribute across business development, client engagement, tendering and proposals, and market positioning. It is suited to someone who enjoys being visible in the market rather than sitting behind the scenes, someone prepared to get out in front of clients and industry contacts, build relationships, promote capability and identify new opportunities aligned to the business.
Alongside its external focus, the role also requires strong internal discipline. The successful candidate will need to bring structure to commercial activity, maintain clear and transparent communication with stakeholders, and provide solid reporting around tendering, proposals and pipeline development.
Key Skills and Attributes
The right person will bring:
* Demonstrated commercial and business development capability, with the ability to identify, pursue and help convert new opportunities.
* Strong stakeholder management skills, with the credibility to build trusted relationships across clients, partners and internal teams.
* Experience supporting or leading tendering and proposal activity, with a disciplined and well‐organised approach to reporting and follow‐through.
* Excellent communication skills, with a professional, transparent and engaging style.
* A proactive and self‐directed approach, with the energy and hunger to get into the market, promote the business and create opportunity.
* Strong commercial judgement, combined with the maturity and presence to represent the business effectively.
What's in It for You
This role offers the opportunity to step into a position with genuine scope and visibility, where your contribution will directly influence market engagement and commercial growth.
It will suit someone motivated by the chance to help shape and build, rather than simply maintain. There is a genuine blank‐slate element to the role, an opportunity to create your own impact, establish strong market presence, and help define how the position adds value to the business over time.
For the right person, this is an opportunity to join a respected specialist aviation business in a role that combines autonomy, external engagement, commercial responsibility and the chance to contribute meaningfully to the next phase of growth.
