Posted: 12 March
Offer description

Raised along the beaches of Australia's Queensland Coast, we grew up in bright sunshine, fueled by curiosity, adventure and a love for the outdoors. This place is our playground and our inspiration, shaping the way we design, create and live. Tank Stream Design designs and develops lifestyle apparel and accessories for quality retailers around the world. Our market‐leading resort and headwear brands are created by a talented in‐house team with a strong focus on quality, detail and outdoor‐led design. From humble beginnings, we have grown steadily over the past 27 years and are now stocked across Australia, Japan, New Zealand, the Caribbean, Canada and the USA. We are proud of our reputation for innovative, well‐crafted products that are loved by retailers and consumers alike — designed here to support life in the sun, wherever it's lived.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Ladies Headwear & Accessories Designer / Developer to play a key role in the design and development of our Ladies ranges across coastal, summer and winter lifestyle collections. Working closely with the Brand Manager and wider product team, you will help shape seasonal direction, research and identify new trends, and develop commercially strong products and prints. You will be the owner of the end‐to‐end design and development process for your categories, from concept through to finalisation. You will work collaboratively with a product developer to support the execution of designs through to pre‐production, ensuring concepts are translated accurately into production‐ready products. This is a creative, hands‐on role that balances design, development and commercial awareness. You will ensure all creative requirements, technical standards and critical timelines are met, while contributing fresh ideas that keep the range evolving and aligned to brand direction. A positive, collaborative approach and the ability to lead by example are important elements of the role.

* Ensure best‐seller updates and core lifestyle categories are maintained and evolved
* Maintain a strong understanding of costings and engineer or rework designs to meet target margins and FOB costs
* Own and manage the critical path to ensure timelines are achieved across all processes and categories
* Source, design and develop quality fabrications, raw materials, blocks, trims and linings
* Lead the creative design and development of all branding elements including labels, hardware, embroidery and trims
* Identify and implement opportunities to reduce environmental impact and support positive social and ethical outcomes across the range
