SKL Technology are looking for an experienced
Solutions Engineer
to support a major
Digital Transformation Programme
aimed at modernising applications and infrastructure. This role involves designing, developing, and implementing secure, scalable technical solutions that meet organisational objectives and compliance standards. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions within complex environments.
Security Requirement:
An active
NV1 security clearance
is required prior to commencement.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and implement technical solutions that meet project objectives, security requirements, and performance standards.
* Collaborate with programme managers, delivery managers, and analysts to translate business needs into actionable technical designs.
* Develop and document system architectures, technical specifications, and integration plans.
* Provide technical leadership throughout design, development, and deployment phases.
* Assess existing systems and recommend modernisation strategies to improve efficiency and security.
* Troubleshoot technical issues and develop resolution plans to minimise disruptions.
* Work closely with developers, UX designers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration.
* Stay informed on emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions.
Required Skills & Experience
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in solution engineering, system design, or technical architecture.
* Degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
* Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, TOGAF, ITIL, CISSP/CISM) highly desirable.
* Proven experience designing secure, scalable, and compliant solutions.
* Strong knowledge of API design, integration, and enterprise systems.
* Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and database technologies.
* Understanding of networking, infrastructure, and IT operations.
Essential Criteria
1. Demonstrated ability to design and implement complex technical solutions, including system integration and architecture development.
2. Strong understanding of software development lifecycles and methodologies (Agile, DevOps, etc.).
3. Ability to collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams.
4. Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
5. Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF).
6. Familiarity with government security and compliance frameworks (e.g., ISM, Essential 8).
Desirable Criteria
* Cloud expertise and experience with cloud-native solution design.
* Knowledge of DevOps practices (CI/CD pipelines, containerisation, automation).
* Understanding of cybersecurity principles for regulated environments.
* Experience modernising legacy systems.
