About the Position
This role involves supporting the Legal Services Team within a government context. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing Freedom of Information (FOI) requests and providing administrative assistance.
Key Responsibilities
* Process FOI requests, maintain registers, and act as the FOI Officer
* Provide administrative support to the Legal Services Team, including answering subpoenas and preparing staff for court appearances
* Manage time effectively, set priorities, plan, and organize work to meet deadlines
* Assist in preparing legal documents across various jurisdictions, such as subpoenas, affidavits, and consent orders
Requirements and Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have proven experience with FOI requests in a government context and an understanding of privacy law.
* Computer skills, knowledge of Windows-based applications, and databases are required
* Ability to manage time and tasks independently is essential
* Tertiary qualification in legal administration or substantial experience in a similar role is highly desirable
