Local Laws Officer Salary Range Band 5 $79,188 - $91,309 12% Superannuation 18 Month fixed-term Full Time role We are a diverse & inclusive council based in St Kilda with a positive culture and flexible working arrangements possible About City of Port Phillip We are a vibrant and diverse inner-city council stretching 20kms from South to Port Melbourne along the stunning bay beaches down to Elwood and out to St Kilda East with around 1000 people who all work together to deliver more than 100 programs and services to our engaged community of residents, businesses and visitors. We are looking for someone who is passionate about the safety and amenity of the community and who will provide high quality and responsive enforcement skills. The ideal candidate will be community focused, have excellent interpersonal skills and a 'can do' attitude when engaging with the community within the City of Port Phillip. We have a passionate and driven team who all work together to deliver outcomes that positively benefit our community. 1 x 18 month fixed term full time opportunity What you might do Investigate alleged breaches of, and where appropriate enforce Council’s Community Amenity Local Law 1. (Local Law) and other applicable State Legislation as required. Ensure compliance with the requirements of Council’s Community Amenity Local Law, including Development Permits issued pursuant to the Community Amenity Local Law, and other applicable State Legislation requirements. Exercise personal judgement within agreed standards to respond to requests within agreed timeframes having regard to personal safety and positive outcomes for the community.
