Company & Role Introduction
Discount Chemist Online is one of Australia's leading online pharmacies, with a strong focus on technology-driven operations and custom-built software to support order and stock management across our online channels.
We are now looking for a Web Administrator to own and manage our web presence, marketplace operations, and SEO. This role sits at the intersection of technology, eCommerce operations, and digital marketing, ensuring that our websites and order management processes run smoothly, securely, and efficiently – and that customers can easily find us online.
Key Responsibilities
Order Management & Operations
• Configure and support our order management system to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
• Collaborate with the software development team to describe order-processing steps and other operational processes, andassist in creating requirements for new and improved system functionality.
• Assist managers and operational staff with order processing issues and escalation.
Marketplace & Website Management
• Publish and manage product listings and orders across Amazon, eBay, and our own website.
• Configure and maintain data exchange between our systems and Amazon/eBay (product feeds, stock levels, pricing, order data).
• Configure and maintain data exchange with external warehouses, fulfilment partners, and product suppliers to ensure accurate and timely flow of information.
WordPress Administration
• Manage our WordPress-based website, including plugins, themes, and configuration.
• Keep all plugins and the core platform up to date while maintaining stability and compatibility.
• Monitor website performance, uptime, and responsiveness, and proactively address any performance issues.
• Troubleshoot website and marketplace-related issues and coordinate fixes with the development team or third-party providers as needed.
Security & Compliance
• Ensure the WordPress website and all integrations follow best practices in information security (access control, updates, backups, encryption where appropriate, etc.).
• Work with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure integrations and data flows are secure and reliable.
Web Analytics, SEO & Marketing Support
• Set up and maintain web analytics (e.g. tracking tags, conversion tracking, funnels) to provide clear insight into customer behaviour and campaign performance.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to adjust marketing strategy based on analytics data (landing page optimisation, campaign tracking, attribution, etc.).
• Plan and execute on-page SEO activities, including keyword-optimised page titles, meta descriptions, headings, internal linking and content structure.
• Work with marketing and content teams to ensure SEO-friendly product and category pages, including keyword research for key categories and products.
• Support technical SEO by maintaining clean URL structures, sitemaps,, redirects and resolving crawl/indexing issues with developers where needed.
• Monitor organic search performance (rankings, impressions, clicks, conversions) and provide regular SEO and traffic reports with clear recommendations.
Skills & Experience
Essential
• Proven experience as a Web Administrator, Web Manager, eCommerce Administrator or similar role.
• Strong hands-on experience with WordPress administration (plugins, themes, updates, backups, performance).
• Experience working with eCommerce platforms and marketplaces (Amazon, eBay, or similar).
• Experience configuring data exchange/integrationsbetween internal systems and external services (APIs, CSV feeds, middleware, etc.).
• Solid understanding of website security best practices and general information security principles.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for web, integration, and marketplace issues.
• Comfort working closely with software developers and non-technical stakeholders to describe processes and requirements.
• Good Excel/data-handling skills for managing product, price, and stock feeds.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Practical experience with SEO (on-page optimisation, basic technical SEO, keyword research, content optimisation).
• Experience using Google Analytics / GA4 and Google Search Console for monitoring and improving website performance and organic traffic.
Preferred / Nice to Have
• Experience in eCommerce, logistics, warehousing, or pharmacy/healthcare environments.
• Familiarity with order management systems (OMS) or ERP environments.
• Basic understanding of HTML/CSS and/or web technologies.
• Experience with SEO tools.
• Experience working with external warehouses and fulfilment partners.
