We are currently seeking experienced Fibre Technicians and Fibre Cable Haulers to join our growing telecommunications team. This role suits individuals with strong hands-on fibre experience or those looking to further develop their skills under the guidance of senior fibre specialists.
Key Responsibilities
* Install, haul, splice, terminate, and test fibre-optic cables across various environments, including underground, aerial, and internal building pathways
* Conduct fibre testing using power meters, OTDRs, light sources, and other industry-standard equipment
* Perform fault diagnosis, rectification, repairs, and routine maintenance on existing fibre networks
* Read and interpret network designs, construction drawings, and technical specifications
* Complete job documentation, test results, and reports to a high standard
* Comply with all WHS regulations, risk assessments, and safe work method statements
* Communicate professionally with clients, contractors, and project managers onsite
* Maintain tools, test equipment, and vehicles in safe and working condition
Skills & Experience
Essential
* White card and First Aid(incl.CPR)
* Experience in fibre installation, splicing, termination, and testing
* Solid understanding of telecommunications infrastructure and fibre network principles
* Hands-on experience operating OTDRs and fibre test equipment
* Ability to accurately interpret telecom drawings and plans
* Full Australian driver's licence
* Strong focus on safety, quality, and workmanship
Desirable
* ACMA Open Cabler Registration
* NBN or carrier-related accreditations
* Additional certifications such as EWP, First Aid/CPR, Confined Space
* Experience working on carrier-grade or commercial fibre projects

Pay: $35.00 – $50.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 48 per week
