Salary ClassificationCardiac Technologist Grade 2, Year 1-3.OverviewThe Cardiac Technologist is responsible for providing safe, effective, and patient-centred care within a collaborative healthcare environment.
Based within the Imaging Department at Calvary Mater Newcastle, the Cardiology Department offers a dynamic setting where you will play a key role as part of the dedicated cardiology team.
In this role, you will perform cardiac echocardiograms on both inpatient and outpatient populations using advanced ultrasound technology.
This is a full-time, fixed-term position for 12 months (1.0 FTE).
DUTIESRecord and archive appropriate study images to the image archive system.Perform routine maintenance of equipment.Includes administration duties such as the computerized data entry of patient demographics and recording of anomalies in patient notes.Participate in clinical trials.Triaging of request forms and test required.Interfacing with the Wards and Units in often stressful situations.Learn more about our community and services here
ABOUT YOUDiploma of Medical Ultrasound (Cardiac) or equivalent and current ASAR (Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry) accreditation as a fully qualified sonographer.Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent as per the awardDemonstrated ability to perform echocardiographic studies and report findings as an interim report.Effectively communicate emergency findings to the Director of Cardiology or Cardiologist on call.Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to transcribe data accurately.Demonstrated interpersonal and organisational skills with the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.Demonstrated commitment to own personal and professional development.CMN is an Affiliated Health Organisation providing services to both public and private patients primarily from the Hunter New England area.
Current employees of NSW Health can request to have various leave entitlement balances transferred to CMN on commencement.
