About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Community Relations and Health Promotion Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Public Health Unit, developing culturally appropriate public health programs, and contributing to the development of policies and protocols.
Key Responsibilities
* Operational management of the Public Health Unit ensuring the successful delivery of programs and services.
* Developing and implementing culturally appropriate public health programs, health promotion events, presentations, resources and workshops.
* Managing and supporting Aboriginal Health Worker Trainees.
* Contribute to the development of policies and protocols.
Requirements
* Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and evaluate health promotion activities.
* Demonstrated Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness and knowledge.
* Demonstrated experience managing, delivering or coordinating activities and services in the community.
* Demonstrated experience working across a broad range of areas including domestic violence, home and community health/welfare, drug, alcohol and mental health, child welfare and aged care.
* Experience recruiting, managing and developing staff.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills and experience building strong working relationships.
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and ability to learn new systems.
