Where you come in…
We're a small business looking for an Industrial Sewing Machinist who is hardworking, has an exceptional eye for detail, possesses a strong work ethic, is reliable and takes pride in their work.
This is a full-time position in our Edwardstown, SA workshop (a few streets behind Bunnings on South Road).
Main responsibilities include:
* Sewing bags primarily using canvas & PVC
* Accessing/preparing/cutting materials and accessories before production
* Ensuring quality standards are met
Additional responsibilities include:
* Operating a hot knife (training provided)
* Providing assistance to the Production Coordinator/ Sewing Team Leader and sewing machinists
* General cleaning duties
Our ideal candidate:
The successful candidate will have demonstrated previous experience in a similar role and will possess the following attributes:
* Flexible availability between Monday to Friday (7:00-3:30 pm)
* High attention to detail
* Previous experience/qualifications within the textile industry (experience with canvas & PVC an advantage)
* Strong pattern reading skills
* Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
* Experience working under pressure
* Good communication skills – both verbal & written
* Working with a sense of urgency
* Able to work within a team and independently - unsupervised.
* Reliable and punctual
Eligibility
To be eligible for employment with us, you must have the following:
* Be an Australian citizen or have permanent residency status
* A Special Category Visa with unrestricted stay and work rights in Australia
* Be able to successfully complete a National Police Clearance prior to commencement
