About The Role
We currently have numerous full-time permanent opportunities for experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Fitters, to join our high performing teams situated at both Yarwun Refinery or Boyne Smelter.
You'll be part of a Maintenance Team, handling both planned maintenance and responding to breakdowns as they arise. Your main focus will be keeping fixed plant equipment running safely and reliably, focusing on instrumentation works. In addition, you will closely work with our mechanical team to diagnose and troubleshoot reactive works in a timely manner at our aluminium smelter or refinery environment.

Roles And Responsibilities
* Maintaining and replacing electrical equipment
* Execution of planned and unplanned breakdown maintenance
* Troubleshooting, calibrating, repair and service of fixed plant electrical assets
* Working at heights activities
* Planned maintenance including PLC, Instrumentation, motor drives and other plant equipment, including Autonomous Forklift equipment
* Ability to work effectively both within a team and independently
* Promote opportunities to improve safety and performance
What You'll Bring
* A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
* Valid C Class driver's licence
* An Australian 'A' grade Electrical licence
* Instrumentation Certificate
* PLC & SCADA experience desirable
* Experience with motors & VSDs, working on Conveyors, Crushers & Ship Loaders

Where you'll be working
Boyne Smelters – Boyne Smelters Limited is Australia's second largest aluminium smelter, located approximately 20km southeast of Gladstone at Boyne Island on the Central Queensland coast. It produces around 500,000 tonnes of aluminium per annum. Activities include manufacturing carbon anodes, aluminium production in reduction lines, and casting of molten material. The smelter is connected to the Queensland Alumina Limited refinery for alumina supply. BSL is committed to protecting the environment and ensuring safe work practices.
Yarwun Refinery – Located in Central Queensland, approximately 10km north-west of Gladstone. Yarwun processes bauxite from our mines in Weipa and Gove, producing more than three million tonnes of smelter grade alumina annually. The team focuses on safely improving processes daily and supports community investments in the Gladstone region.
