The role
Trinity College is currently seeking an experienced Canteen Manager. This permanent, part-time opportunity involves working 52 hours a fortnight, four days per week, offering family-friendly hours that fit perfectly around school schedules and home life.
Job Overview
The Canteen Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations and financial management of the Trinity College Senior canteen in accordance with Trinity College protocols and relevant government regulations.
Responsibilities
- Managing daily operations and financials in line with Trinity College policies and procedures.
- Prepare, assemble, and present food items in line with food safety standards and College expectations.
- Maintain hygiene and cleanliness across all service areas.
- Manage the Qkr! Online ordering system, including resolving queries, uploading menu items, managing availability, generating reports, and producing labels.
- Manage stock levels, order supplies, conduct regular stocktakes, and liaise with distributors/reps.
- Accurately prepare and package lunch orders for students and staff.
- Schedule and supervise parent and community volunteers.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with all stakeholders, including volunteers, students, staff, and parents.
- Collaborate effectively with the Principal, Officer Manager, and Director of Business Administration.
- Ensure all volunteers complete mandatory Working with Children Check (WWCC), RRHAN‐EC and Food Safety training.
- Ensure compliance with the SA Government Right Bite Food and Drink Supply Standards.
- Comply with local Council and SA Health and safety regulations, including readiness for audits and inspections.
Qualifications
- Experience in canteen or food service management.
- A proactive, can‐do attitude and strong leadership skills.
- Communication and interpersonal skills to engage professionally and by Trinity College values.
- Comfortable using Microsoft tools such as Excel, Word, and Teams to stay organised and connected.
- Experience with kiosk systems such as Qkr! is a plus, but not essential.
- Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC).
- Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate and First Aid in an Education and Care Setting, including current certification in Asthma Management, Anaphylaxis Awareness and Emergency Response.
