CQ Soil Testing are recognised as one of the most experienced domestic and commercial site investigation teams in Central Queensland and The Greater Whitsundays region.
About the role
CQ Soil Testing has multiple drill rigs servicing The Greater Whitsundays region and beyond. Our services include domestic house site investigations, geotechnical investigations, environmental sampling, contract drilling and wastewater designs.
The role would suit a candidate looking for a career and to learn new skills. The industry provides a large variety of roles and skills, with many opportunities for learning.
The successful applicant responsibilities will eventually include, but not limited to:
* Classifying soil samples obtained using a 4WD mounted drilling rig
* Operating an SPT and drill rig as part of a team
* Logging of samples
* Recovering tube samples as required for laboratory testing
* Conducting DCP testing as required
* Providing legible site sketches noting all relevant features to assist in classification
* Maintaining the vehicle, drilling rig and all equipment
* Possession (and maintenance) of a current manual driver's licence is essential
A level of physical fitness to allow the safe and competent operation and maintenance of all equipment (including but not limited to drilling rig, hand auger, dynamic cone penetrometer).
Skills and experience
Possession of White Card, while not mandatory, is desirable. We can assist with this if required.
