Salary Range: Level 5 $120, % Superannuation

Location: Applicants must reside in or be willing to relocate to Geraldton or Perth

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our ICT team as a Software Developer on a permanent full-time basis.

About Us

Mid West Ports Authority (MWPA) provides an essential service, connecting regional Australia to national and international markets as a specialist port catering to boutique and diverse operations.

MWPA operates seven (7) commercial berths and critical marine and land assets which enables the facilitation of trade for the Mid West region, exporting a variety of products including iron ore, grains, mineral sands, non-mineral sands and mineral concentrates. The Port also imports fuel, fertiliser and break bulk cargo. The Port of Geraldton also encompasses the Geraldton Fishing Boat Harbour (FBH), home to Geraldton's fishing industry. The FBH provides significant opportunities for further development of the Port and activation of a thriving commercial and leisure industry hub.

About the Role

The Software Developer (Power Platform) is responsible for the end-to-end design, development, integration, deployment, and ongoing support of enterprise applications and automation solutions built on the Microsoft Power Platform and associated technologies. The role focuses on delivering secure, scalable, and high-quality digital solutions that improve business efficiency, streamline workflows, and enhance user experience across the organisation. The position plays a key role in translating business requirements into practical technical solutions, implementing modern low-code and pro-code development practices, and ensuring strong governance, data protection, and platform stability across development, testing, and production environments. The Software Developer actively contributes to continuous improvement initiatives, technical uplift, and the adoption of modern development standards, while working closely with stakeholders, ICT teams, and vendors to deliver reliable and future-ready digital capabilities.

About You

Key qualifications and experience:

Essential

* Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent demonstrated industry experience
* Demonstrated 2–5 years' experience in a software development or application support role
* Proven experience developing and supporting:

· Model-driven Apps and Canvas Apps

· Power Automate flows, including integrations with external systems

* Hands-on experience with:

· Power Fx, JSON, and JavaScript

· Python: Automation and data scripting.

· Liquid/HTML/CSS: For Power Pages customisation

* Experience administering Power Platform environments including:

· Environment strategy

· DLP policies

· Security roles and permissions

* Experience supporting production systems, including incident resolution and defect management

Eligibility to Apply: Australian citizenship or permanent residency is an essential requirement for applicants to be considered for positions in the public sector.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the advertised vacancy.
