Wilpena is entering an exciting new chapter. The resort is currently undergoing the first stage of a significant transformation, including the refurbishment of 24 guest rooms and the addition of four new luxury glamping tents, all launching in April 2026. This marks the beginning of a broader development program that will expand accommodation capacity and enhance guest amenities — positioning Wilpena as a flagship destination within the Discovery Resorts portfolio.

About The Role
As General Manager, you will be responsible for the overall performance, culture and guest experience of Wilpena Pound Resort.
You'll lead the day‐to‐day operations across accommodation, food and beverage, Activities/tours, maintenance and guest services while ensuring the resort delivers on both quality and commercial outcomes. As Wilpena evolves, you will play a key role in leading the team through change, elevating the guest experience, and preparing the property for its next phase of growth and expansion.
You will be a visible, hands‐on leader, setting the tone for culture, service standards, and operational excellence across the resort.
About You
You're an experienced hospitality leader who thrives in unique environments and enjoys the challenge of running a complex tourism operation.
You bring a balance of strategic thinking, operational expertise, and people leadership, and are excited by the opportunity to help shape the future of a destination property.
You'll Bring
* Proven experience as a General Manager or senior leader in hotels, resorts, or tourism operations
* Strong operational capability across accommodation, F&B & guest experiences
* Financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, labour management, and reporting
* A practical, hands‐on leadership style that builds trust and engagement with teams
* Experience in regional or remote operations (highly regarded)
* A genuine passion for hospitality, tourism and creating memorable guest experiences
