About the role
Are you a proactive and experienced leader ready to drive high-performing operations in a fast-paced and essential industry?
Join our expanding Traffic Control business as an Operations Manager, where you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering safe, compliant, and efficient traffic management services across South Australia.
In this leadership position, you will oversee the daily operations of our Traffic Control team, coordinate resources, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders. You’ll be at the centre of our service delivery – keeping projects on track and people safe.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations across multiple sites, ensuring smooth workflow and staff coordination
- Implement and monitor Traffic Management Plans in line with legislation and client specifications
- Collaborate with internal project teams, councils, and clients to provide practical traffic solutions
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, equipment standards, and documentation requirements
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing traffic team
- Conduct site audits, inspections, and incident investigations as needed
- Manage permit applications, TMP submissions, and regulatory documentation
- Maintain strong communication and reporting across all operational functions
- Drive a culture of safety, quality, and compliance across the business
- Facilitate inductions, toolbox meetings, safety briefings, and risk assessments
- Recruit, onboard, and train new staff to meet operational demand
- Respond to last-minute changes, urgent requests, and operational disruptions with agility
- Lead or support incident investigations and implement corrective actions
What You’ll Bring
- Proven leadership experience within the Traffic industry
- Valid Traffic management tickets (Workzone Traffic Management or equivalent)
- Traffic Management Design (TMD) Certification – Mandatory.
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation, codes of practice, and industry standards
- Experience in team leadership, compliance management, and operational coordination
- Excellent communication and problem solving skills
- Current and valid Australian Driver’s Licence
- White Card
