Mental Health Ambulance Police Program Clinician, Illawarra Community Mental Health Service
The Mental Health Ambulance and Police Project (MHAPP) clinician will provide a highly mobile, recovery orientated clinical assessment, consultancy and support to NSW Ambulance and Police managing mental health related cases in the community.
The MHAPP clinician works with NSW Ambulance and Police to provide mental health triage, primary client assessment and management of complex mental health emergencies and crises at an advanced level. The position holder will be required to possess extensive knowledge of mental health disorders and demonstrated clinical practices to provide support, treatment, coordination and education to emergency services who work with consumers with complex mental and physical health needs.
The successful candidate is a clinical expert who, through leadership, facilitates excellence in research based clinical practice, education, research and professional leadership. They model the CORE (Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment) values of the organisation.

Requirements:
- Applicable vaccination requirements for a Category A role
- Working With Children Check (WWCC)
- Relevant qualifications as a Registered Nurse with a current license to practice from the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with a minimum of five years full time equivalent post registration experience and in addition who has approved post registration nursing/midwifery qualification relevant to Acute Community Mental Health or such other qualifications or experience deemed OR relevant qualifications as an Occupational Therapist currently registered with AHPRA OR a Social Worker eligible for registration with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
- Valid NSW Drivers Licence
