About the Role

At Maggie Beer Holdings, we are seeking an exceptional Head of Sales & Category to lead our sales and category function for Maggie Beer Products, a brand synonymous with quality, provenance, and innovation.

Reporting to the General Manager – Maggie Beer Products, this is a pivotal leadership role with full P&L accountability across a diverse and high-profile customer base including Woolworths, Coles, Aldi, Costco, Independents, Foodservice, Harris Farm, David Jones, and Export markets.

You will lead and inspire a high-performing team across National Accounts, Category, Sales, and Export, driving both strategic growth and operational excellence. This role offers autonomy, influence, and the opportunity to shape the future direction of a much-loved Australian brand.

Key Responsibilities
* Strategic Leadership
o Develop and execute long-term joint business plans (JBP's) with key retail partners
o Lead portfolio, customer, and channel strategy in line with growth ambitions
o Identify and unlock NPD opportunities aligned to market trends and customer needs
o Drive pricing, promotional, and category strategies to maximise ROI and profitability
* Operational Leadership
o Deliver against sales, volume, and profit targets across all channels
o Lead execution of sales and marketing initiatives aligned to business plans
o Drive distribution, ranging, and in-store execution excellence
o Optimise customer investment to deliver strong commercial outcomes
o Own forecasting, budgeting, and inventory alignment with supply chain
o Lead category reviews with a strong focus on customer and consumer outcomes
o Analyse market trends, consumer behaviour, and competitor activity
o Leverage data (e.g. IRI) to generate actionable insights and strategies
o Lead market assessment processes to support portfolio and product decisions
o Identify opportunities and risks, providing clear recommendations
* Leadership & People
o Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing sales and category team
o Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
o Ensure clear KPIs, performance management, and development pathways
o Foster strong internal and external stakeholder relationships
o Lead with high emotional intelligence, influencing at all levels
About You
* You are a strategic and commercially driven leader with a passion for FMCG and a proven ability to deliver results in a complex retail environment.
* You will bring:
o 8+ years' experience in FMCG sales and/or category management
o Strong experience managing major retailers (Coles/Woolworths highly desirable)
o Demonstrated success in negotiation, joint business planning, and customer growth
o Deep commercial acumen with strong P&L ownership experience
o Ability to translate data and insights into clear, actionable strategies
o Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
o A growth mindset, resilience, and a hands-on leadership style
